Concrete Lifting and Leveling in Orem, Utah

Orem has long called itself "Family City USA," and family homes see a lot of foot traffic. Kids ride bikes down the driveway, grandparents come up the front steps, and everyone carries groceries in from the garage. When one concrete slab sinks below the others, all that traffic turns into trip hazards and frustration.

Utah Concrete Lifting & Repair lifts and levels sunken concrete across Orem using polyurethane foam. We're a family-owned company based in nearby Mapleton. Owner Drew Hubbard is a licensed and insured General Contractor (Utah license 12877564-5501, B100) who has been building homes and working with concrete for more than 20 years.

Lift or replace? How to decide for your Orem home

Most Orem homeowners who call us are asking one question: can this be lifted, or does it have to be torn out? Here's a quick way to think about it.

Lifting is usually a good fit when:

  • The slab is still in one piece, or in a few solid pieces

  • It has sunk, tilted, or dropped below the slab next to it

  • You can see a gap between the slab and the ground, or the slab sounds hollow

  • Water now pools on it or runs toward the house

Replacement may be the better call when:

  • The concrete is crumbling, flaking apart, or broken into many small pieces

  • Lifting wouldn't leave you with a solid, usable surface

If we look at your concrete and lifting isn't the right fix, we'll tell you. When lifting does fit, it typically costs 50% to 80% less than replacement.

Common concrete lifting jobs in Orem

Driveways

The most common call we get. A panel near the garage or the street drops, and suddenly there's a bump every time you pull in, a lip that catches the snow shovel, or a low spot where water sits. We lift the panel back up so it lines up and drains the way it should.

Garage floors

A garage floor section that has settled can leave an uneven step at the door or a slope where the car parks. Lifting brings it back into line.

Sidewalks and walkways

A raised edge between sidewalk squares is one of the easiest ways to trip. We lift the low square to remove the hazard.

Patios and steps

Back patios that tip toward the house, and front steps that have settled away from the porch, can often be lifted instead of replaced.

How the process works

We drill small holes about 3/8 inch across (roughly a dime) and inject high-density polyurethane foam under the slab. The foam expands, fills the voids, and raises the concrete. Then we patch the holes. The foam cures in 15 to 30 minutes, so your driveway can go back into use almost right away. Want the details on the material? See why we use polyurethane injection.

Orem concrete lifting FAQ

How soon can I park on my driveway?

The foam cures in 15 to 30 minutes after injection, so you can drive on it shortly after we finish.

How fast can you get to me?

Call or text and we'll set up a time for a free estimate. If you approve the job, we can often get you on the schedule fairly soon, sometimes within a few days.

Do I need to be home?

We'll set up a time that works for you to come by for the estimate, and you can point out every spot that's bothering you. For the work itself, just make sure we can reach the area (for example, leave a side gate unlocked) and move vehicles and furniture off the slabs.

Can you also seal the cracks?

Yes. We also offer crack and joint caulking, which helps keep water from getting under your slabs. More answers are on our FAQ page.
