Concrete Lifting and Crack Repair in Provo, UT

Provo has every kind of concrete you can think of: decades-old sidewalks in long-established neighborhoods like Joaquin and Maeser near downtown, and newer driveways and patios in areas like Edgemont and the Riverbottoms. Old or new, concrete settles. When it does, you get trip hazards, puddles, and steps that rock under your feet.

Utah Concrete Lifting & Repair is a family-owned company based just down the road in Mapleton. We lift sunken concrete back into place with polyurethane foam, usually for a fraction of what replacement costs. Owner Drew Hubbard is a licensed and insured General Contractor (Utah license 12877564-5501, B100) with more than 20 years of building homes and working with concrete.

From the older sidewalks around Joaquin and Maeser near downtown to driveways in Edgemont and the Riverbottoms, Provo concrete takes a beating. Much of the valley floor sits on sediments left by ancient Lake Bonneville, and the Utah Geological Survey notes that clay-rich soils swell when wet and shrink when dry. Add Provo's freeze-thaw winters and sprinkler runoff, and slabs drop and crack.

Utah Concrete Lifting and Repair lifts sunken concrete with a custom 3 lb hydrophobic polyurethane foam made locally by Utah Foam Products: made in our area, for our area. You can walk on it right away and drive on it after about 4 hours. We also seal cracks and joints so water stays out from under the slab, and we offer densifying as an add-on. Owner Drew Hubbard brings 20+ years of construction experience, and we've served 2,000+ customers with 200+ five-star Google reviews.

We're close by, and we also work in Orem, Springville, Mapleton and Pleasant Grove. Get a free estimate or call (385) 398-9886.

Concrete problems we fix in Provo

Sidewalks and front walkways

A sidewalk square that has dropped an inch is easy to miss and easy to trip over, especially at night or when it's icy. We lift the low panel back up so it sits flush with its neighbors again.

Steps and stoops

Front steps that have pulled away from the house or tipped toward it are more than an eyesore. They're a fall risk for everyone who comes to your door. In many cases we can lift and level concrete steps without tearing them out.

Driveways

If you feel a bump every time you pull in, or water pools at the bottom of the driveway, a panel has probably settled. We lift driveway panels so they drain properly and stop catching tires and snow shovels.

Patios and garage floors

Back patios that slope toward the house, or garage floor sections that have dropped, can often be lifted back into position the same day.

A note for Provo landlords

With BYU in town, Provo has plenty of rental housing. If you own a rental, an uneven walkway is a hazard for your tenants and their guests. Because there's no minimum job charge, it's practical to fix even one bad sidewalk square before it becomes a bigger problem.

How polyurethane concrete lifting works

  1. We drill small holes, about 3/8 inch across (roughly the size of a dime), in the sunken slab.

  2. We inject high-density polyurethane foam underneath.

  3. The foam expands, fills the empty spaces under the slab, and lifts the concrete back into position.

  4. We patch the holes.

  5. The foam cures in 15 to 30 minutes, so you can use your concrete almost right away.

There's no jackhammering, no hauling away old concrete, and no waiting for new concrete to cure. Curious how this compares with the older mud-pumping method? Read Polyjacking vs. Mudjacking in Utah.

What concrete lifting costs in Provo

We use the same pricing in Provo as everywhere else we work:

  • Typical sidewalk: $300 to $1,200, depending on length and other factors

  • Driveway panel: $300 to $800, depending on size and how much lift is needed

  • Steps, patios, and other jobs: Free estimate

  • Minimum job charge: None

Foam lifting typically costs 50% to 80% less than replacing the concrete. A fuel surcharge may apply for remote jobs. For the full breakdown, including what raises or lowers the price, see our Utah concrete lifting cost guide.

Our 3-year warranty

Every lifting job comes with a 3-year warranty. If a slab we lifted settles more than 1/4 inch within three years, we come back and lift it again (a fuel fee may apply). Lifting doesn't change the soil under your concrete, so we'll also point out drainage problems, like downspouts dumping next to a slab, that are worth fixing.

Provo concrete lifting FAQ

Do you really come out for a single sidewalk square?

Yes. There's no minimum job charge, and estimates are free.

Can I use my walkway the same day?

Yes. The foam cures in 15 to 30 minutes, so you can use the slab almost right away.

Will the patch holes show?

The holes are about 3/8 inch and are patched with a concrete mix chosen to blend in. On plain gray concrete they're hard to spot. On colored or stamped concrete the patches may be more noticeable, so mention it during your estimate.

Is lifting always the right fix?

No. If the concrete is crumbling or broken into many small pieces, lifting won't give you a solid surface, and we'll tell you so. More answers are on our FAQ page.
