Polyurethane Concrete Lifting in Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City has some of the oldest neighborhoods on the Wasatch Front. Many homes in areas like the Avenues, Sugar House, and Liberty Wells were built generations ago, and their sidewalks, steps, and driveways have had decades of winters to shift and settle. Newer homes and businesses get sunken concrete too.
Utah Concrete Lifting & Repair serves Salt Lake City from our home base in Mapleton. We're a family-owned company. Owner Drew Hubbard is a licensed and insured General Contractor (Utah license 12877564-5501, B100) with more than 20 years of building homes and working with concrete. We lift sunken slabs with high-density polyurethane foam, which typically costs 50% to 80% less than tearing out and replacing the concrete.
How to get the most out of a Salt Lake City visit
Since we drive up from Utah County, a little planning helps both of us:
-
Text photos first. Send pictures of the problem areas to (385) 398-9886. Photos help us understand the job before we set up your free on-site estimate.
-
List every problem spot. Driveway, walkway, back patio, front steps: show us everything during one estimate so we can price it all at once.
-
Know about the fuel surcharge. Our standard pricing applies, but a fuel surcharge may apply for remote jobs. Ask about it when you set up your estimate.
What we lift in Salt Lake City
Sidewalks and walkways
Raised edges between sidewalk squares are classic trip hazards. We lift the low square so the walk is flush again.
Front steps and porches
Concrete steps that have tipped or pulled away from the house can often be lifted and leveled without re-pouring.
Driveways and garage floors
Sunken driveway panels cause bumps, puddles, and lips that catch snow shovels. Garage floor sections can drop, too. Lifting puts them back in line.
Patios
A patio that tilts toward the house can send water toward the foundation. Lifting can restore a slope that drains away from your home.
Commercial concrete
We also take commercial jobs. Pricing depends on size, access, how much foam is needed, and scheduling, so we give a free estimate.
Polyurethane vs. mudjacking
Some Salt Lake City homeowners have heard of mudjacking, which pumps a heavy cement slurry under the slab. We use polyurethane foam instead:
-
Lighter: about 2 to 4 pounds per cubic foot, compared with over 100 for mudjacking slurry
-
Smaller holes: about 3/8 inch (roughly a dime)
-
Faster: cures in 15 to 30 minutes
-
Water-resistant: 100% hydrophobic, so it won't wash out with snowmelt
The process is simple: we drill small holes, inject the foam, let it expand and lift the slab, and patch the holes. Read the full comparison in Polyjacking vs. Mudjacking in Utah.

Salt Lake City concrete lifting FAQ
Do you really work in Salt Lake City?
Yes. Salt Lake City is one of our listed service areas, along with all of Utah County, Nephi, and Park City.
Will lifting work on older concrete?
Often, yes, as long as the slab is still in one piece or a few solid pieces. If it's crumbling or broken into many small pieces, lifting won't give you a good surface, and we'll recommend replacement instead.
Will the holes be noticeable?
They're about 3/8 inch and patched with a mix chosen to blend in. On colored, stamped, sealed, or heavily weathered concrete, patches may be more noticeable, so mention it at your estimate.
Can you lift in winter?
Yes. We lift concrete year-round. The foam creates its own heat as it reacts, so cold ground isn't a problem as long as the slab is clear enough to work on safely. More answers on our FAQ page.
